China's Unlikely Pop Star

The Nigerian-born performer Emmanuel Uwechue, a k a Hao Ge, has risen to stardom singing in Mandarin Chinese.

Pretty cool, I like the guy's voice and vibe and his Mandarin sounds pretty good. "Hao Ge" means "Good Song" and is not exactly the most sophisticated alias but it looks like it's sticking so that's that. And I don't see Uwechue's blowup as all that unlikely, I see it more as a cultural phenomenon that was bound to happen and will hopefully continue to happen — and in fact has been happening via cultural exchange along the Silk Road for millenia.
