Dee Rees has received numerous awards for her narrative short Pariah, including accolades from the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films and Outfest. In 2008 Pariah (the short) was selected as part of the Sundance Film Festival. In 2009 the film was a semi-finalist in Netflix's "Find Your Voice" competition.
Rees recently completed developing Pariah into a feature film that has been selected for the upcoming Sundance Film Festival 2011 - now in its longer format. Rees holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from New York University
