You all have heard me say it many times before — I am half Haitian. My father was born and raised there, and half of my ancestry resides there.
An old picture of me and my Dad
Yesterday a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the country and the death toll is expected to be very heavy. Haiti's National Palace — the equivalent of the U.S. White House — has partially collapsed.
My Dad is still getting in touch with our family there to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for. So far everyone's fine. But I know others won't be so lucky.
I don't feel like linking to the news reports on this. You can find them all over the web. It's too depressing I guess, and I've heard that comments left about the tragedy haven't been too kind.
Haitian BGLHers, are you out there? How are you feeling about all this…
