fuck. my mom immigrated to the U.S. from a town just six hours south of the border. she literally rode a neat little bus to get to the border. i never quite realized how both of my parents being from mexico could be a privilege, for both of them getting through safely… they also both learned english in Mexico, how much harder would it be getting here with not a word of it?
but FUCK. TWO of THREE.TWO of THREE. people wouldn't be coming if they didn't goddamn need to… who would willing go through something where they would MOST LIKELY get raped/abused if it weren't one of the only options left?
