Propose a session for the Allied Media Conference

Please forward widely!

The Colorado Anti Violence Program(http://www.coavp.org) in collaboration with FIERCE(http://www.fiercenyc.org ) is organizing the first ever Trans & Queer Youth Media Track at the Allied Media Conference. We are seeking youth led workshops, caucuses, meet ups etc that center LGBTQ experiences. We are especially excited to see sessions that incorporate digital storytelling, participatory action research, community mapping, performance or documentary film as tools for healing, education and community organizing. The Trans & Queer Youth Track is a creative grounds for year-round collaboration and we encourage session proposals that are coming from multiple groups and make space for ongoing networking and working partnerships.

For questions or details feel free to contact Eleanor Dewey at eleanor@coavp.org or 303.839.5204 or Manny Vaz at ellen@fiercenyc.org. See you in Detroit!!

Propose a session for AMC2010
Since last Fall we have been working steadily to develop 14 visionary tracks for AMC2010.  These tracks are being coordinated by diverse networks who will use the AMC to deepen their relationships and forge alliances across networks, to showcase their current media-based organizing practices and to develop new ones.  Each track will have two to four sessions, with many sessions overlapping multiple tracks.  We invite you to submit a session proposal for AMC2010 that aligns with one of these tracks OR is completely outside of these tracks.  Your session proposal does not have to fit within one of these tracks.

We are also interested in sessions related to Media Economies (cooperative economics, innovative distribution models, media-based economic development); the Future of Journalism (innovative business models, community-based journalism, emerging technologies); and Media, Education and Movement-Building (sessions designed by and for educators)
