Day 12: Aishah Shahidah Simmons

Aishah Shahidah Simmons is a filmmaker, writer, lecturer and activist whose work primarily focuses on the lives of Black women and girls. She has candidly addressed issues of race, gender, homophobia, class, rape and misogyny.

Her first film was Silence… Broken, and her most popular is NO! The Rape Documentary, which is being used in many communities to address the issue of sexual violence.
